We have some good times in store for you as we join others across the nation in the National 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge from American Patchwork & Quilting. This is a yearlong challenge to create & donate 1 million pillowcases to local charities across the country. A pillowcase can provide comfort for a cancer patient, hope for a foster child, encouragement for a battered woman or beauty for a nursing home resident.
On August 3rd we will join this national movement & open our classroom to anyone, ages 10+, to come in & make a pillowcase for a local organization. Bring your own fabric or recieve 30% off any fabric purchased here for the challenge. If you have time to make more than one, we will donate fabric for the 2nd one. We will supply the sewing machines & cutting equiptment. You only have to bring yourself & be ready to donate your time (about 2 hours) to a good cause.
Registration is necessary so that we have machines set up & running all day. As we complete the pillowcases, they will be displayed for all to see! |
